The Barrhaven
Tennis Club will be hosting the 7th Annual Phil LeBlanc Memorial
Tournament (PLMT) from July 16 to July 26.
One of its key events is the PLMT BBQ. It will take place on July 18th
from 5:00 - 8:00 PM (rain date July 25th) and promises to be as exciting as
ever! The event will include an exhibition singles match :competitors to be announced at a later date, and a performance by aspiring musician Nayana Bhatnagar, followed by a BBQ.
After dinner,
guests will be invited to play some games and have a chance at over a hundred prizes from numerous sponsors. Games will include the OTA Smash Cage and target
practice.
In addition, raffle
tickets will be sold at the beginning of the barbecue and throughout the
tournament (winners to be announced following the championship match on July
26th). Tickets are $5 for 3 tickets and $10 for 8 tickets. This
year, we have not one but two professional tennis players' autographed
merchandise, along with some autographed Ottawa Senators apparel! This
includes an autographed puck and hat from Chris Philips, an autographed outfit
and cap from Maria Sharapova and an autographed poster, shirt and TENNIS RACKET
from Kei Nishikori!
Registration to get
into this annual event is only $5. However, should you wish to make a
donation to the Phil LeBlanc Memorial Fund, volunteers will be on site to take
your contributions. Volunteers will also take down your mailing
information should you request a tax receipt.
The PLMT barbecue
is open to the public, so feel free to invite any relatives, friends or work
colleagues to this fantastic event!
