Welcome to the world’s first fully customizable racket. Whether you are engineering a racket to perfectly fit your game or looking to
be able to change things on the fly, Dunlop's iDapt will fit all areas of your
game.
So what is iDapt?
iDapt is technology focused on letting the player customize
the areas of a racket that most affect performance (these areas being head size, length and
feel (weight is also possible through the use of lead tape)). When building an
iDapt frame, first off you must chose your head, with options ranging from 98
sq’in to 105 sq’in. With a variety of string patterns, there shouldn’t be too
much issue finding the head right for you. The next step is deciding how long of a
racket you wish to have. Many people do not know this but there are two
lengths of rackets regularly available on the market. The first is your
standard 27’in frame that gives great feel and stability, and the second if the less used
27.5’in which allows for great power and reach potential. Once length is decided
on, grip size must be chosen. This is done the same way you would with any other
frame. The last major decision you will need to make is how you want the racket
to feel. Dunlop as three different options to choose from, called shock-sleeves. These option are soft, medium, and firm, and alter how much you can feel the
ball connecting with the racket. Once you have made these selections, all that
are needed is a allen-key to fasten everything together.
Up until this point this sort of customization has only been
reserved for those competing on the ATP and WTP circuits. iDapt has
revolutionized the way we can go about purchasing a new racket.
